Eugène Pont, CEO of Air Liquide Welding, commented: “Our major priorities today are to bring to our customers productivity gains and improvements in the welder’s working environment.”
Examples of the CTAS’ achievements : TOPTIG, a major improvement in the TIG arc welding process which considerably reduces spatter rates and CRISTAL consumables, which significantly improves the welder’s working environment by reducing toxic fume emissions. The ARCAL range gas mixtures, developed some years ago for the welding and cutting market, will be extended in 2008 with new mixtures for aluminium welding.
Martha Heitzmann, Vice President, Research & Development of Air Liquide Group, stated “ I am delighted to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the CTAS. I take this occasion to signal the Group’s continued commitments to bringing innovation and added-value to the welding & cutting markets. The CTAS is an important part of our worldwide network of R&D centers and plays a key role in collaborations and partnerships with various universities and customers.”
